NY - UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot in Midtown. #12 *Arrest*

Seems like his anger should be directed at Aetna, not United Healthcare.

Exactly, the error was on the part of Aetna and then his own Defense Team. The Prosecution did what they were ethically bound to do. The fact that the Defense sent the info too is rather ironic.

Luigi Mangione's confidential, 120-page medical history was accidentally emailed to his New York prosecutors not once, but twice — first by Aetna and then by his own defense lawyers, according to a new court filing.

Prosecutors took "appropriate measures" both times, forwarding the confidential health records to the judge and deleting their own copy, the lead assistant district attorney, Joel Seidemann, wrote in revealing what he described as a double-snafu on Friday.

Saratoga County Man Charged with Cyberstalking Family Member of Slain UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson:

ALBANY, NEW YORK – Shane Daley, age 40, of Galway, New York, was charged with cyberstalking and arrested today for sending harassing and threatening voicemail messages to a family member of murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

A criminal complaint alleges that between December 4 and 7, 2024, beginning just hours after Thompson’s murder in midtown Manhattan, Daley placed multiple calls to a work phone line used by a member of Thompson’s family. In a series of voicemail messages, Daley used threatening and harassing language that focused on, among other things, Thompson’s killing, expressed satisfaction over the fact and manner of his death, and stated that the victim and Thompson’s children deserved to meet the same violent end.

The charges in the complaint are merely accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Acting United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III said: “Brian Thompson was gunned down in midtown Manhattan. Daley, as alleged, gleefully welcomed this tragedy and did all that he could to increase the Thompson family’s pain and suffering. My office and its partners will now do all that we can to hold him accountable for this vicious and outrageous conduct.”

Jay Clayton, United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, said: “As alleged, Daley threatened and harassed a grieving family in the immediate aftermath of a loved one’s murder. These selfish, harmful, and callous actions undermine public safety and will not be tolerated. This Office, together with our law enforcement partners, will pursue and prosecute those who seek to intimidate victims and their families. We are grateful to be working on this case alongside the Northern District of New York.”

How strange and sad. I wonder if Daley has any link to Mangione?

Probably not, just another fellow conspiracist. :(

Doubtful. People have been making these kind of malicious crank phone calls since telephones were invented. If you read old cold cases from decades ago, they were not uncommon for unsolved murders and missing children. It’s very sad behavior that’s unfortunately been around a long time.

Mangione’s defense team lambasts prosecutors for their response to the Aetna drama. They reiterate the need for an evidentiary hearing to “uncover the full scope of prosecution's conduct.”

Not yet. They will be in court in the fall, it will likely be set then.

Here's a link to his defense web site which posts updates to his trial calendars. There are both federal and state charges against him for murder and a legal process ongoing in Pennsylvania. Charges in Pennsylvania appear to be related to carrying a firearm w/o a license, uttering and forgery. The latter are probably related to having a fake ID.

Agree, you don’t need to be looking for fame to despise the health insurance industry. Millions of Americans do.

If Mangione was only looking for fame, he would have stayed at the crime scene and taken credit for the murder as Chapman did after killing John Lennon.
I agree

I despise the Healthcare System myself, I get it. To me, LM picked an Industry hot button to 'Martyr' himself for, although he wasn't covered by UHC and he certainly looked healthy and fit in his many shirtless selfies he posted on Social Media.

It's not unusual for these types of killers to remain anonymous, although here LM bragged in his mini manifesto that 'someone had to do it'.

Ted Kazinsky, (Unabomber) and Timothy McVeigh (OK City Bombing) are a couple of radicalized fame seekers off the top of my head that didn't hang around and take public credit for their crimes at the time. They tried to evade LE TK successfully for years, and TM not so much thankfully.

A father of teenage boys, beloved husband, son and friend, was shot execution-style on the streets of New York City as he walked to a meeting. Mangione is a sick coward.
