Victim Dies After 'Violent Rampage' by Brooklyn U-Haul Driver in Attack that Also Injured 8
The 62-year-old driver suffers from mental illness, said his son, who believes he may have stopped taking his medication
One of the victims of the U-Haul driver who police allege went on a "violent rampage" Monday morning in Brooklyn, N.Y., has died, police said.
The victim, a 44-year-old man who has not been publicly named, succumbed to his injuries, an NYPD spokesperson told PEOPLE.
Police have not yet named the suspect, but his son identified him as Weng Sor, 62, of Las Vegas, the Associated Press reports.
His son, Stephen Sor, 30, said his father has a history of mental illness and acts out when he doesn't take his medications, according to the AP.
He is believed to be homeless and may have been living in the U-Haul truck, WABC reports.
