As firefighters investigated at the residence, where they discovered 25-year-old Hartman deceased. She had been seen by several witnesses just a day prior.
Investigators determined that the fire had been an act of arson, with the Clark County Coroner’s Office ruling Hartman’s death a homicide.
“This was a homicide, and the arson was a cover up,” said Sgt. James Byron, Springfield PD''.
