CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority has released photos of a woman considered a person of interest regarding a recent incident involving a baby girl found with a man at the RTA station on Cleveland’s East Side Saturday.

A spokesperson for the GCRTA confirmed the woman in the photos told police she was the baby girl’s mother and they are looking to identify her. Anyone with info is asked to contact police at 216-566-5163.

Do you know her? Officials need public’s help to identify baby found at RTA bus stop

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Cuyahoga County authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a baby found Saturday at an RTA bus stop.

The baby, who appears to be about 6-months-old, is safe and in foster care, said Mary Louise Madigan, the Cuyahoga County spokeswoman.

The infant was with a man at a stop near Superior Avenue and East 105th Street, according to a police report released by the RTA.

Transit police said they received a report of a man holding a naked baby around 8:00 p.m. Saturday.

Officials asking for help in identifying baby girl found at Cleveland RTA bus station

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — RTA police and social workers with Cuyahoga County Child and Family Services are asking for family members to come forward and identify a baby girl found at a bus station.

Cuyahoga County officials tell 3News the baby was found on Saturday at its E. 105 and Superior bus stop in Cleveland with an adult. However, they are unable to verify the adult’s relationship with the child. RTA says an initial call about the incident came to the Cleveland Division of Police, who transferred it to RTA's transit police.

Police still looking for family of baby found at RTA bus station in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood

The baby, who officials believe to be about six months old, was found with a man who claimed he was her father, later identified by police at Bennie Anderson, 50. Police couldn’t determine the relationship between Anderson and the baby.

Madigan says the county doesn’t track data for the number of babies lost and found because it doesn’t happen often.

“This is not typical,” Madigan said. “Babies are usually identified within a few hours, not days.”

Police discovered through a dispatcher that Anderson had an outstanding felony warrant accusing him of a parole violation. When informed about his warrant, Anderson told police he would not cooperate with the arrest or give police the baby.

Anderson continued to resist arrest, and RTA police used a taser on him after what they described as a minor scuffle, the police report said. He is now in custody at the Cuyahoga County Jail.

A woman across the street recording the incident on her phone told police she was the baby’s mother and Anderson’s wife. However, the woman, who later identified herself as “Love Anderson,” could not give officers any information on her relationship to Anderson or the child, police said.

Mystery surrounding Cleveland’s Baby Doe sheds light on thousands in foster care

“We have seen some calls come into the agency and we’re grateful for anything that people can provide,” said Jacqueline Fletcher, deputy director of resources and placement at Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services. “The child is healthy that’s a good thing. We’ve learned she’s very healthy, she’s been well taken care of.”

Meanwhile, Ward 9 Cleveland City Councilman Kevin Conwell said he is in the early stages of planning a door-to-door effort in the area where the baby was found and will ask nearby residents if they can help identify the baby girl.

“We’re very concerned, not just me but my residents have called me trying to figure out where did this baby come from,” Conwell said. “I will put boots on the ground, and we will go door to door and we will ask people in the area do they know anything about this tragic issue.”

Solon police investigate ‘person of interest’ in connection to unidentified baby found at Cleveland bus stop

SOLON, Ohio (WOIO) - A woman believed to be a person of interest in the mysterious discovery of an unidentified baby at a Cleveland bus stop was spotted Wednesday in Solon.

The Solon Police Department responded to Solon Square, a shopping center, on Aurora Road after a tipster reported the sighting shortly after 8:00 a.m.

“Surely it’s of interest to the community in that there’s a baby out there that nobody really knows exactly who she is or who the mother is,” said Lt. Bill Vajditch. “We want to help answer those questions. That’s what our role was today.”

In bodycam footage obtained by 19 News, the woman appears to remain calm while talking about a wide variety of topics.

Sounds as though the woman may have some mental health issues. Aurora, the city where police picked her up, is a long way from the place in Cleveland where she left the baby. If she walked that far, she's been walking for days.

The baby does look healthy, I hope they find someone who can take care of it.
