Cobain Reidmiller, a 2-month-old child, was taken by Kelly Schmid and Kyle Reidmiller. Schmid and Reidmiller are Cobain's biological parents, but police said they don't have custody of the child.

Cobain was taken from the parents and placed with its maternal grandmother due to Schmid's drug addiction and Reidmiller's violent behavior.

The suspects were last seen in a green Chevy S-10 truck.

Oh great, one drug-addicted parent and one violence prone parent thinking they should have a 2-month old baby instead of letting a responsible grandmother care for him. What are they going to do when he's hungry or has colic and won't stop crying?

IMO it's another case of "I can't care for my baby and my needs are more important but I don't want anyone else to have him."

IMO it's not about love or nurturing it's about power and possession. We see this over and over - it's never about the needs of the baby. Selfish, immature people needing to show everyone who's boss. Bah. MOO.

Is there a reason this is doesn’t qualify as an Amber alert? The have suspects and a suspects vehicle, and the child is not with them willingly. Wouldn’t this fall under the qualifications for that?

Good question.

Ohio guidelines for an Amber alert:

AMBER ALERT

The following criteria must be met to initiate an AMBER Alert:

  1. Law enforcement confirms the child is under 18 years of age.
  2. Law enforcement believes the abduction poses a credible threat of immediate danger or serious bodily harm or death to the child.
  3. There is sufficient descriptive information about the child, the suspect, and/or the circumstances surrounding the abduction to believe that activation of the alert will help locate the child.
  4. A law enforcement agency determines the child is not a runaway and has not been abducted as a result of a family abduction, unless the investigation determines the child is in immediate danger of serious bodily harm or death.
Hmm.... 1 through 3 apply. 4, do the authorities think this case doesn't qualify due to number 4?

Not really liking that parental abduction language in this case. If that's what is holding them back and anything happens to this child...
