Recovered/Located OH - Daveena Jimenez, infant taken by Sharon Downes & Antonio Jimenez-Rubalcava, Toledo, 14 Aug 2019

Daveena Jimenez was remanded to the custody of Lucas County Children Services on August 14th, but authorities have been unable to locate her.

Attempts to contact the parents, Sharon Downes and Antonio Jimenez-Rubalcava, have been unsuccessful. Police believe she is in their custody.

Toledo police, Lucas County Children Services have been searching for infant since Aug. 14

LCCS representatives said they've knocked on doors and have exhausted every possible attempt to locate Daveena Jimenez. They now feel that her life may be in danger.

[...]

"In this case, we had some concerns about the parents' ability to keep the child, this particular child, safe. But we believed that if we sent the child home with a safety plan, that involved relatives supporting her, that this would be okay."

Soon after the child was born, LCCS made contact with the parents and relatives about a safety plan which the parents signed and said they would cooperate with.

"At some point, we were contacting those folks and they were saying 'Yeah they have an appointment.' So we would be there for the appointment and they wouldn't show. And so that's why it's risen to this level."
