[h=1]Mushroom hunter finds human remains on Raysville Road[/h]
A morel mushroom hunter located human remains on Sunday, May 6, near Raysville Road and Wildcat Hollow in Jackson County.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Tedd Frazier, investigations regarding the remains have continued since Sunday.

“Since Sunday, we have been checking the area. We contacted the Jackson County Coroner’s Office and began investigating immediately,” said Frazier. ”We are going through the scene as we speak today.”
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) was also contacted to assist and process the scene, said Frazier, along with the STAR (Special Tactis and Response Team) from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility at Lucasville.

“The remains were sent to Montgomery County and will be examined by an anthropologist,” Frazier said.

Human remains found in Jackson County, Ohio

http://www.wsaz.com/content/news/Human-remains-found-in-Jackson-County-Ohio-482592981.html

It’s a place so remote, Willis McCarty is the nearest neighbor and he lives almost a mile away.

Frazier cannot say if it was a man or woman who was found, how long they've been there or even if a crime was committed. His investigators will be waiting on results from an anthropologist, a process which could take six months

Jackson County has two active missing persons cases, but families of others in nearby counties have also called.

"I don't want to get the hopes high of families until we get something so we can give them closure," Sheriff Frazier said
