A Cambridge area resident convicted of turning on a clothes dryer with a 3-year-old child inside was sentenced to 180 days in jail during a sentencing hearing earlier this week in the Guernsey County Common Pleas Court after being convicted of child endangerment, a first-degree misdemeanor.

The jail sentence was then suspended and Jamial E. Bayly, 41, was placed on one year of supervised probation with special conditions.

He was ordered to maintain employment and comply with a case plan established by Guernsey County Children Services.
