UPDATE: The Ohio Attorney General’s office has been approved the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office request to upgrade the status of John Sigman to a Silver Alert.

The Sheriff’s Office said Sigman left his home in his 2013 silver Ford truck with the license plate HDW 7850 after speaking to his daughter on his home phone.

Family has no leads in search for 77-year-old Guernsey County man missing since May

John Sigman drove away in his silver Ford F-150 truck. The truck is a 2013 model with the license plate, HDW 7850.

Sigman’s family said he is a man of routine and is usually never gone for more than a few hours at a time when traveling to the store or a family member's house. He is also known to take drives to Seneca Lake and Salt Fork Lake.

“We have had a lot of good people help us with drones, walking fields, walking back roads. All of our family have done the same walk, driven, looked for maybe possible accidents, maybe ran off the road, maybe he broke down. We have tried a lot of things,” said his son, Michael Sigman.

He recently started having memory issues, according to his daughter, Shannon West.

“It is undiagnosed but he has been having memory problems for the last year and they were getting worse but he still could take care of himself, he still takes his walks and his drives. He takes care of himself still,” said West, who described her father as the best person she knows.

Body of missing Lore City man John Sigman found Friday evening

Sigman was reported missing on May 13.

The body of John Sigman was discovered Friday evening by a woman riding an ATV in a wooded area around Killbuck Lane. His truck was also in the area, according to Guernsey County Sheriff Jeffrey Paden.
