Keith Kaylor, 55, of Hamilton, was locked up Wednesday night. A grand jury indicted him on 20 counts of child pornography.

Investigators explained why they think his victims could be local and the importance of tracking them down.

"This individual had the most in depth fascination with young children than I think I've ever seen," said Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper.

"He just had a collection of bizarre things that had to do with children. Some were obscene and some were not obscene."

Piper says when investigators searched Kaylor's Hamilton home last month they found a computer disk with photos of naked children.

"There are pictures of children. Pictures of children with children and pictures of children with adults," Piper told 9News.

A Hamilton man who police said used his home computer to transmit child pornography over the Internet has been indicted on 20 felony charges.

A Butler County grand jury, on Wednesday, returned indictments against Keith Riley Kayler, 55, 352 Hampshire Drive, Apt. 5, alleging 10 counts each of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material and pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor.

Police said their investigation had not turned up evidence that Kayler was involved in producing child pornography.

During the investigation detectives discovered that Kayler’s AOL screen name was [email protected].

Police are asking anyone with information that could aid their investigation into Kayler’s activities to contact Hayes at (513) 868-5811, Ext. 1230.

(Hamilton, Ohio) Keith Kayler, a 55-year old Hamilton man was sentenced to 15 years in prison today, by Common Pleas Judge Nastoff, for 5 counts of Pandering Sexually Oriented Material Involving a Minor and 5 counts of Illegal Use of a Minor in Nudity Oriented Material. The charges stemmed from a vast collection of child pornography which was discovered on Defendant Kayler’s computer after a tip from America On-Line was referred to Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which resulted in the Hamilton Police Department becoming involved. Defendant Kayler’s past convictions include Sodomy, Indecent Acts Upon a Child, Enticing a Child to Commit a Lewd Act and Illegal Production of Pornographic Photographs involving a 7 & 8 year old boy. Kayler served a 7 year sentence for those crimes. Prosecutor Piper stated, “These crimes sicken me. He deserved 15 years due to his past record of being a pervert. It’s disgusting beyond explanation that deviants like this focus on little kids. While Kayler may look like a professional everyday person, he admitted being aroused with sexual fantasies involving young children and violence. Its easy to believe in chemical castration when sexual predators just won’t stop with their horribly aberrant behavior. I applaud the Hamilton Police Department for taking a potential monster off the streets — its another example of the police protecting us every day and often we are not aware of their efforts to keep us safe.” Kayler was also found to be a Sexual Predator. * * *

Seven lousey years then more sickness spread by this pervert. Then he gets out again what's the chances he's going to be rehabilitated? None.

Chemical castration won't work on this guy. Keeping him locked up is the only option.

He was convicted by Army Courts Martial in 1981. The Army wasn't really big on investigating stuff like that back then because it might make them look too bad. I often wondered what happened to him. Always kind of in the back of my mind kind of thing. He got out in 1988 so between then and 2005 he was out there hurting kids. I only found out this week because I had to submit a FOIA request from the Army CID.

And now this falls into the LIFE IS JUST F'N WITH ME catagory. Found out that Mr Kayler was being held in Chilicothie Correctional Center that's part of the Missouri Department of Corrections. My dad worked as food service manager for the Missouri Department of Corrections from 1989 until around 2000 after he retired from the Army. Dad lives about 100 miles from the CCC and I go up there to hunt and fish and visit Dad. I didn't know I was with in 100 miles of this pervert several times during his sentence and never knew it.
