CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A slew of charges have been filed against people Kentucky authorities say were involved with the luring and sexual assault of a missing teen girl.

On Saturday, April 20, a deputy in Knox County, Ky. received a report of a missing 16-year-old. Knox County is about 180 miles south of Cincinnati. She was entered into the National Crime Information Center Data Base for missing persons.

Cincinnati police notified that deputy Sunday that they’d received a tip about a girl that was being kept in the back of U-Haul truck in a parking lot. . . .

The article goes on to describe exactly how the kidnapping happened, and how the kidnapped teen was abused. This is a horrifying story, especially considering that so many teens have gone missing in Knox County, Kentucky. The news article does not mention how long the teen had been held in captivity.

Knox County KY Sheriffs Facebook page - lots of people commenting seem surprised that the one guy and the girl would be involved. Guess you never know tho.

The video says the girl had been missing since Saturday and she was very thankful to be rescued. Poor kid.

@PayrollNerd, thanks for finding out that information. Any time spent in that trailer would have been a horror, but I'm glad it was less than a week. Bless the person that reported the U-Haul to police in Cincinnati, so that she was able to be rescued!

I wonder if it was her parents wiring her the money.

The U-Haul was already leaving the check-cashing business in Mount Auburn when Cincinnati police arrived.
In the truck, they would find a missing 16-year-old girl from Knox County, Kentucky, who police say was raped and was being trafficked.

The three adults she was with all face human trafficking, drug and kidnapping charges.

The call came in at 2:55 p.m. Sunday. The U-Haul truck was stopped attempting to leave the business at 3:15 p.m.

Had the group left any earlier, the search could become much more complicated. The check cashing business is less than 300 yards from a highway on-ramp.

The call tipping off police to the girl's location came from someone who was wiring her money and feared she was traveling with drug dealers, according to police documents.

Once at the scene, Cincinnati police were able to take the teen into custody and arrest Carl Hickman, 27, on drug charges. The two other adults were let go.

Though Cincinnati released two the adults, the Knox County Sheriff's Department arrested them both by Monday.

The teen had come up in the national missing persons database. Knox County deputies had entered her information into the system Saturday.

Michael Nason, 34, of Corbin is charged with rape and had open warrants in Knox County for overdue child support.

Tiffany Cheek, 29, is accused of luring the teen to come with the group.

Nason and Tiffany Cheek are being held at the Knox County Detention Center. Hickman is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center awaiting extradition back to Kentucky.

Thank you @PayrollNerd for all that added information! So not only was she kidnapped, held hostage in a trailer, raped, trafficked, but they had her wire someone for money? I'm so glad that person she wired for money contacted LE, and that LE took the tip so seriously and acted on it immediately in order to rescue her.

Dear TatianaBarbie,

Yes, that person who reported is definitely a hero, and will always be a "hero" in the young teen's life.
