Columbus Police search for man after ‘unusual or uncharacteristic’ disappearance

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man missing from south Columbus.

Jim and Susan Stover said their son had been at the adult rehabilitation center at the Salvation Army, trying to fight an addiction to pills and alcohol when he was kicked out of the program. Susan Stover said she learned of that from friends of her son. Then she began to get other messages through Facebook that her son had moved on to using heroin. Still others were darker.

"Some messages said that, he had been killed," Susan Stover said. "Check down by the river. Rest in peace, Matty."

Police are investigating. Parsley's car was stolen from the area near the Salvation Army. It was later found in the Polaris area with no sign of Parlsey. News that the body found in the Scioto yesterday was not Parsley allows the parents to remain hopeful, but it also leaves their questions unanswered.
