The nine year anniversary of Nikki's disappearance passed recently. Was there ever a reward posted? I've been poring over the details, but don't remember seeing one mentioned.

If not, do you think it would be futile to start collecting money for one? Money makes people talk.

Now I think the boyfriend's account sounds very suspicous, because I heard too many times of "I saw my wife/girlfriend got into a car and drove away, I never heard from her again"

Yeah, that's always sketchy as hell, and the fact they argued about the paternity of the baby is a major red flag and possible motive.

Forgot to add, I think her bag was deliberately left by the bridge as a red herring. Whoever took her was planting the idea that she committed suicide.

Coming up on eleven years this week my fellow Ohioan will be missing, and sad this young woman has had so little publicity. It feels as though someone got away with getting rid of Nikki, at least that is a strong suspicion of many of us. Bumping this thread. I hope for some renewed information. I've not been to that area of Ohio in years but I recall Troy and Piqua being very rural small towns mostly farming and quiet. It's hard to believe someone didn't see or hear something about Nikki then or all these years later!

I think it may have been May 2010… I was on my way to work in the early morning hours. I worked at upper Valley Medical Center and I was taking Piqua Troy Road to cross over to 25a.
I saw a young girl walking on the side of the road …she was walking towards Troy and I did not want to stop because I was afraid I would be late for work, but the mother in me stopped and she came running towards my vehicle.
I rolled down the window and she said she needed a ride to Troy. I asked her where she needed to be dropped off and she said the Troy Square. I told her how dangerous it was to be on the side of the road and she could be hit or picked up by the wrong person and was really kind of going on about that and told her that I had a daughter about her age and she asked my daughter’s name and I told her and she said oh I went to school with her.
She told me that she had been arguing with her boyfriend and that she was trying to work it out.
It was a long time ago, so I don’t remember specifics, but I do remember that it was Nikki Forrest.
I made a Facebook post after I picked her up that day. I was concerned for her safety and thought about my daughter and hoped that someone would do that for my daughter if she were ever in a bad spot and was walking on the side of the road and the memory came up on my Facebook the following year.
I also called my daughter that day and told her about picking up a girl hitch hiking and her name and my daughter did say they went to school together.
I have looked at the time line when she came up missing. It was around 4 months later. I read somewhere she was 4 months pregnant when she came up missing. I often wonder if they were arguing that day because she told him she was pregnant.
I thought she had told me that she needed a ride home and asked me to drop her off at the Troy Square …so I just assumed that she had left her boyfriend‘s house in Piqua…. But it was a long time ago, and she may have said that she was going to her boyfriend‘s house. I did not realize the importance of each detail when it was happening.
I don’t know if I would be the type of person that could be hypnotized to be able to give each detail but I would be willing to do that if anyone thought it would be helpful.

Sincerely,

A mom wanting to help Nikki find her way home.

Circumstances of Disappearance

Forrest, 19, who had been somewhat transient during the previous year, disappeared September 25, 2010. That day, she had two arguments in two Miami County cities, one in Piqua and one in Troy. The first argument was with a friend of her late mother. Forrest had been staying at the woman’s home on Piqua’s Young Street. The argument was about the rules Forrest was to respect to stay there, and Forrest responded by packing her things and leaving.

It’s unknown how she travelled the eight miles to the northern part of Troy, but she arrived there later that same evening. She stopped by a girlfriend’s place on Trade Square West, then walked to the home of an ex-boyfriend about three blocks away. That man reported that they argued about her plans for the two of them to move away from the area. Then, while the two were in his driveway, a blue car picked her up and she left, he told police.

That is the last reported sighting of Forrest, who was midway through a high-risk pregnancy that required she take daily medication. That medication was found days later in her shoulder bag, along with her identification card, a food stamp card and some other personal items. The people who found the bag saw the prescription issued by the pharmacy at the Covington Avenue Kroger in Piqua, and took it there. The pharmacy called Forrest’s emergency contact, who then contacted police.

Police have never identified the people who dropped off the bag and still hope they come forward. They told Kroger employees that they found the bag on a covered bridge on Eldean Road, off County Road 25-A, just north of Troy and five miles from where Forrest was last seen. Police obtained Forrest’s cellular phone records, but it hasn’t been used since she vanished. A waitress at a Waffle House said that Forrest never picked up her last paycheck.

Forrest was not known to police before she went missing, but a number of her acquaintances were.
