FINDLAY, Ohio — Authorities are investigating after two people were found dead Sunday morning in a Findlay apartment.

Officers were called to an apartment in the 700 block of N. Main Street around 4:30 a.m. on April 20 after a report of "possibly deceased individuals," according to the Findlay Police Department. When officers arrived, they found two people dead in the living room. In a press release, police described the deaths as "suspicious."

Names and other details released:
Richard Gutierrez Jr., 52, and Ernesto Mendoza Jr., 61, were discovered deceased in an apartment at 708 N. Main St. in Findlay.

Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to the apartment for a “possible deceased person,” but upon arrival, they found both men dead.

Autopsies were ordered (and I would assume tox) My first thought after looking at this was CO2 poisoning in one of their homes (the place looked older from the news coverage), but this article stated they were just visiting and there was a gathering with multiple people (it was Easter weekend) and there was "intoxication" involved at the gathereing.

Nothing in the court record system on Mr. Gonzales but his obituary indicated he was born and raised in Findlay and had several children and grandchildren. Mr. Mendoza has been a Findlay resident for twenty+ years. and had several children and grandchildren as well His divorce was in 2002 (Case No. 2002 DR 00163 ) so not recent. So very tragic, they had so many loved ones and a lot of good years left.
