Do we know the name of the first man? His Namus has been removed as wellThe most obvious would be him: The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
Is a year long enough for him to become ‘scattered skeletal remains’ though? If not, there are two more possibilities from that county listed in NamUs. Without more to go on it’s difficult to find a match.

Not @MadMcGoo but that was John Alexander and his profile was removed on May 1, 2023. Unfortunately I'm in a hurry now so I don't have time to check the details of his recovery to see it the jawbone might belong to him.Do we know the name of the first man? His Namus has been removed as well

That is incredible to narrow down such a dated set of remains like this. DNA Doe are just fantastic! Thanks to the DNA Doe Project, this jawbone has been determined to belong to either Jacob Friend, or Amos Friend, both of whom were born in the 1800's. Jacob Friend was born in 1852 and died in 1923 at the age of 71 in Toldedo, Ohio. Amos Friend was born in 1861 and died in 1898 at the age of 36 in Bucyrus, Ohio. Both brothers were buried in the same cemetery in Bucyrus.
Due to the prospect of exhumations disturbing the brothers' remains, the DDP has decided to mark this case as closed.
