ARREST MADE - EX-HUSBAND OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025

One thing that is really telling to me is the dog. Almost any dog (especially a golden doodle!) is going to bark if someone enters the house late at night. Yet apparently they didn’t get out of bed to check. This says to me that either 1) they were used to someone coming and going (maybe a basement guest?) or 2) the perp was already inside the house, whether invited or not.
The BIL said that the dog was asleep in the 4 year old’s room.

Keep in mind the kiddos were in the same house... If the CO idea was on my mind I'd be terrified for them and wouldn't bother wasting precious seconds, much less an hour's commute. I get not wanting to exclude anything but it just... makes sense that they'd call. I don't know what else to say.
We are going to have to agree to disagree

Moo...the dentist would be at work at least an hour before first patient. He has paperwork etc. The 911 and worker going to check on him would be at the same time, if you figure in travel time...moo

i thought of this too, but then i thought well they probably would've mentioned that to 911 like 'he did express fear for his safety', etc. maybe not though, maybe they thought that would complicate the call and they just wanted to get the welfare check going ASAP.

MOO
There was no one else staying with them at the house at the time of the murders. If there was, the four year old would have told her relatives about it. That is one of the first questions they would have asked her.

It could go either way. I would probably mention it but if it ended up being some other reason he couldn’t be reached I would feel silly.

It seems they were more concerned about his wellbeing than waiting patients. JMO.

Doesn’t this go hand-in-hand, though?

The waiting patients were not missing, they were where they were supposed to be, in the waiting room.

Dr. Tepe was NOT where he was supposed to be and both he and Michele were unreachable.

As to concern for the patients awaiting treatment, that wasn’t going to happen with no dentists on the premises anyway. Better to find out what was going on as quickly as possible. Maybe they could send the patients to another dental practice, but Spencer was not ever going to be available.

Moo....are you kidding. It takes 3 to 6 months to appointment sometimes. People often have to travel quite a distance. They take time off work for appointment. The patients will not suddenly disappear.
Exactly, and I think this is why the staff let the boss know right away that Spencer hadn't come into work yet that morning and patients were already waiting and I think he knew then that something was very wrong.

How would we know this? The cops aren’t saying anything. It’s possible.

You spoke with the four year old?!

Like I said I think it’s odd to call the police before you check the house unless you know of a specific reason they could be in danger

The person who arrived there first was based in Columbus. His name is public but I won’t mention it here. He wasn’t in the family of ST/MT and shouldn’t have been the one to discover the tragedy. By the time he got into the house, it was probably over two hours (edited!) after the clinic’s first dental appointment. The places opens at 8 am on Tuesday. ST would likely have been expected to arrive at 7:30 am, so would have normally left home at 6:15 am. First 911 call was made roughly 3h15m after you’d have expected ST to have woken up. But no text, no calls, no response from him or his wife.

The BIL clearly said the 4 year old saw or heard nothing. Given how open he was with sharing info, you don’t think he would have shared if someone was staying with them?

This person could have previously stayed with them not necessarily at that specific time. This could have been someone the BIL knows. No need to tell us everything.
Again, I could be way off base here but just getting this vibe.

Yeah I don't know why this dead horse keeps getting beaten? It's been explained ad nauseum. I work in finance I would 100% do what I posted.
You are calling the cops if your boss misses a meeting with you? After how long? Wouldn't you just assume he got pulled into another meeting?

My dentist always shows up late to appointments though there is usually a hygienist or someone to get me prepped for a cleaning etc. And are you saying real family emergencies are not possible? They have no playbook for that?
An emergency would allow him to call, in this era of constant connectivity. And one of them would at least have responded when called by the dentists’ office

WHATT????? PLEASE DO NOT butcher my posts like that I find it very offensive. I said NOTHING of the sort.

If my boss misses his first CLIENT meeting of the day, yes I am calling the police. I wouldn't assume he got pulled into another meeting because I know his schedule. He would call me to let me know. It's been 15 years.
