ABSOLUTELY agreed. i bartended throughout college, and i remember having the naive epiphany during one of those late nights that everyone does drugs . obviously.... not everybody, but you know what i mean.

I don't think there was a party on the night of the murders, but I'm thinking the perp was staying in their home and that person somehow got out of control enough to murder sleeping people.

If the perp was staying in their home as a guest this would have already been solved. It would have been all over their phones and their ring camera. I believe someone came into that house in the middle of the night, somehow knew the door code (maybe via the parties they had or from their nanny), and killed them in their sleep. Horrifying.

Of course, too early to tell what is the motive here, but one thing did strike me about the phone call from a distressed woman that this couple seem to have known. The Teppes seem to be a couple that would go out of their way to help someone in a bad situation, for example, an abusive relationship. We've seen this before in a few cases, where the anger of the rejected male is meted out to the helpers of the abused woman, as without their influence, he perceives that she will be back under his control.
This couple would both be in their social circle and therefore would probably know the keypad code. Just speculation.

One more time for the people in the back, the brother-in-law is married to Spencer's sister.

Additionally, the identity of the caller and her "man" is really no one's business.

Aside from family and friends of the victims and maybe neighbors in close proximity who have fear, murders shouldn't be the public's business at all. Yet here we are. So if there's a 9/11 call from a home where a murder took place some time after it very much becomes part of it, even if it ends up being unrelated.

It's a lesson in keeping your business to yourself. That way, no matter what happens in the future, you can't be dragged into it. Fight with your "man?" Settle it in your own space. It sadly isn't the mindset anymore.

For sure. Especially a nanny who plays a vital role in household with 2 young kids. That person starts to feel like part of a family. If that person was in a tough relationship with an abusive partner, they probably would have done what they can to support and help her through that and it could have had unintended consequences of making them a target.

On the 911 call the BIL specifically said it was someone from a party they had at their house. So they had a party, on a Monday night no less, and that party resulted in one of the guests calling 911 at 2:45 AM. Unless the BIL is lying, those are the facts,

As said, BIL lives in Cincinnati so if he was a suspect they'd be able to determine pretty immediately if he left his home for ~5 hours in the middle of the night.
A - his wife would know
B - everyone has Ring cameras nowadays so you can't exactly stealthily drive to another city and return home without being caught on cameras

Js, all the people aiming vitriol at him can be comforted by the fact that LE would know pretty immediately if he did leave his home. I know people get frustrated when family members speak too freely to the press (lord knows Steve Goncalves got an absolute flood of hate), but just assuring people that LE would know if BIL had any connection.

Totally agree with you here, however… didn’t they zero in Kohberger pretty early on, tracked him cross country, staked outside his house to make sure they had a rock solid case?

I thought you had to have all your ducks in a row before arresting someone so that you don’t fumble with their right to a speedy trial.

Also, not trying to place blame with this comment, just referencing a prior case and they may very well know who it is but are waiting for DNA confirmation, etc. (whether it’s him or not)

I don't. I think it's more damage control and to protect their reputations. To me the voice on the 911 call vs her voice in the wedding video are the same especially when she starts to cry in the wedding video the voices sound the same. The only difference is the person in the 911 call is slurring their speech indicating they have been drinking or on something impairing their speech. IMO

If you look at the wedding video again, there are two women whose voices there are similar. Monique is dark-haired and thin, the other one is also dark-haired but looks different. It is after Monique's speech. At 7'09" and afterwards.

It may be a totally different person, not from the audio of course.

MOO - often related women (mother and daughter, cousins, two sisters) have similar voices and manners of speech. So if i were to guess, some woman from Monique's maternal line.

Add to it that: Monique is crying during her speech and the woman on the 911 audio is having some emotional crisis plus, sounds slightly influenced. Easier to think that it is Monique but in essence, we are comparing two voices of women under some stress. It is possible to make mistakes.

Regarding the other person who seems to have lived in the Tepe house … am I the only one noticing that her prior address is very similar but off of 6th st? (A couple blocks away).

On the sites I’m looking at, she comes up when you search their address, but if you actually look under her name, it’s not their exact address.

I see the same thing you do when I click on her name. That site can be so helpful sometimes but also wildly inaccurate other times. It has indicated some of my relatives have lived places they never have and even has wrong ages sometimes. JMO

We don't know that it isn't. Silence doesn't always necessarily speak volumes but in this case I truly see it going that way. I would not at all be surprised to see interest in this one drop drastically by the weekend. Why? Because a great majority are following it for nothing more than the mystery of it and once any sort of announcement of an arrest is made, even without all the questions necessarily answered, interest will naturally drop.

Someone above mentioned the alley footage as being a "bone" of sorts thrown by police to just get something out there. I'd have to agree. This wasn't an elderly couple with no real known associates nor was it a child with no real possible way to have someone come after them. It was a couple, arguably in their primes, with a huge social network and, no matter who wants to stick their nose in the air and proclaim that a house costing $500k is nothing, good financials. With all of that there is a TON to go on.

This isn't the Briccas down the road in '66 who kept to themselves. 60 years later people won't still be asking who killed the Tepes. We're going to know the story.

One thing that has bothered me:

I understand the first 911 call was placed from the work boss. Makes sense that he called after staff alerted him ST hadn't shown up to work. But then just 1 hour later we had a friend show up at the residence at 10 AM. How would that friend know something was off? It's a workday at 10 AM. Unless I guess the friend knew people at his work and they reached out? How many of you have friends that know people at your workplace? It just doesn't make sense that so many people were in such a panic by 10 AM... It seems to have happened so fast.

I would guess that a coworker knew one of his friends and got in touch. I think if you become or are friends with any of your coworkers, it’s not uncommon for them to meet your other friends. And small offices can also lead to more social interactions.

I still have 20 pages of the thread to go to catch up, but given Spencer's occupation, I'd be interested in looking over his work-related financial arrangements. Am I correct in understanding that he had been working at one dental practice (in Ashland) and subsequently moved to another? Did a substantial number of patients follow him as he transferred his practice? What were his financial arrangements at the one practice and then at the subsequent one? Were any funds due the previous practice?

I imagine that LE is carefully investigating all aspects of these two victims' lives. But besides robbery, a potential family matter, someone wanting access to drugs, etc., I'd certainly be looking into business relationships and potential related motives.

What does killing the couple, but not the children (heirs) accomplish? Do any arrangements become void upon the death of both Spencer and Monique?

Also people wondered why he worked so far from home. He may have had a non compete with a radius restriction at his prior job.
