Just out of curiosity, but why do you reopen a divorce case from years past?
Or why? If I had escaped an abusive ex, no way would I ‘poke the bear” to try and get anything from him. ‘Custody’ of what?

But maybe he has never stopped harassing them…and he filed as part of that harassment.

In my country we’ve had a bunch of well respected eye surgeons and doctors committing murder against their wives or landlords - it’s crazy.
You would think someone who rose to that skill level wouldn't have such a fragile little ego

But turns out there was a valid reason for concern.
There are also people that made unecessary comments about the BIL multiple times.
Well now, as I said many times: unless there is some specific reason known that they could be in danger it’s odd to call before checking. Seems they had some specific reason -though I haven’t seen any info saying they did.
Nothing reported in mainstream media there was, so it’s very odd to me they called before checking.

Aren't there rumors that someone watched the wedding video days before the murder? She said in her vows that she had been through a lot, but it was worth it because it led her to ST.

This poor couple. She moved on, was happy, started a beautiful family, and this 🤬🤬🤬 couldn't handle it.
Their address had a huge spike in google trending searches on 11/01/2025, this may have led to the viewing of the wedding video. It was definitely reconnaissance being done.

Ex is from Chicago.
So he drove to Columbus.
Bet police ascertained he wasn't at work or present in Chicago at the time.
I’ll bet his phone gave him away.

5 hours , 27 mins from Chicago to Columbus, drive time. Geez, he was intent.
Something has triggered him 5 years after the divorce. Probably something to do with the court records deactivation.

Please note that in court docketing systems, the term “custody” does not automatically refer to child custody. It can instead denote the court’s jurisdictional control over a case.

Maybe he always planned on doing this, as spite or revenge is best served cold?

Could there be a chance oldest is with the ex?
I highly doubt it given that the oldest is 4 years old and the couple got married in early 2021.

I predict that after McKee is extradited back to Ohio, the murder charge will be upgraded to aggravated murder.

Seriously. Monique was so gorgeous and seemed like such a beautiful soul, I guess I could see an obsessive ex fixating on her and being angry he can’t have her and it boiling over over the years. How freaking sad. This guy is a surgeon and could’ve moved on.
Sometimes I think it is a curse for people to be very good looking (I am talking moviestar level which she was). Some people may envy them but it causes more headache and unwanted attention for the attractive person in many cases.

That part was clear and easy to comprehend. What about the 2025 entries, that's what we are looking at?

However, maybe this gives us an understanding as to why the reaction of the dentist coworkers was so good (I never found it overly weird) - maybe they were aware S & M were having issues with someone or weird things were happening (S & M may not have known who it was).

The holidays would be the exact type of life event that would trigger someone like him to act. He has nothing. No family or spouse. She has everything… a perfect family. He is a predator could have never found anyone like her again. He probably had no social skills, a recluse and loner. People would have noticed he is off. What a tragedy.

Or were the holidays an easier time to arrange the crime due to the killer's schedules, time off, etc. Or were events unfolding and the culmination just happened to be during the holidays? Or as you say, a goal to resolve the issue by the end of the year.

Another point that might be minor but just to mention and perhaps consider. New Year's Eve in Columbus was a very big deal this year. The beloved Buckeyes were playing in the Cotton Bowl that night. So two major events on the 31st. Many parties and lots of excitement. Many people had made plans for that night. Even if staying home was the plan. People were talking about whether they were going out or staying home.

So it would have been more difficult to mysteriously disappear from family and friends that evening. It would be quite noticeable and an excuse would be much harder to come up with. So if the goal was to take care of something before the New Year, the last day it could be done was the 30th.

People may think the football angle in terms of timing may be a bit odd. But the joke in Columbus is that the official religion is football and it is not really a joke. It's true. :(
I’d like to double down on this for anyone who doesn’t understand the seriousness of Buckeyes football. I no longer live in Ohio (and I wouldn’t even consider myself in the top 50% of fans) and my New Year’s Eve revolved around the game! I can’t think of any family or friends I know in Ohio who didn’t have plans to watch the game on the 31st.

Records say police were able to identify McKee through neighborhood video surveillance. He was reportedly tracked to a vehicle that arrived just before the shootings and left shortly after.

Detectives were able to identify the vehicle and link it to McKee, according to court records. They later located the vehicle in Rockford, Illinois and found evidence that McKee had ownership of the vehicle.

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office website, McKee was booked on Saturday morning. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

It was him in the video!!
He didn't even try to use a different vehicle.

I’m curious to know the motive as well, because I also thought why now? What suddenly triggered this…
Moo
Absolutely baffling as to why now?!?

I wonder if his medical license is suspended or anything
