“The 30-year-old anesthesia technician, a married father of two, had planned to ride a bus to his job at the Cleveland Clinic on the morning of Jan. 11, 2014,” according to a press release from Yost’s office. “Halton, who worked on an organ-transplant team, was scheduled for a 6 a.m. procedure. He left home before dawn and headed for a bus stop near the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard and Grovewood Avenue. At roughly 4:50 a.m., as Halton waited for the bus, someone shot him and fled. People nearby reported hearing a commotion followed by a gunshot.”

''Halton's father, Pastor Stephen Halton Sr., posted on Facebook to mark the anniversary of his son's murder. "On this day 10 years ago, our son Stephen Halton Jr was murdered. We are still praying, hoping and asking for help to solve this horrific crime on Lakeshore Ave. Please pray for me and my family today," Halton Sr. wrote''

“I can tell you exactly what happened on January 11, 2014,” said Moss. It’s the day her only sibling was killed.

“From our understanding, it was a random robbery at the bus stop,” Moss said.

The 30-year-old was called to work early. He was an anesthesia technician and was called in to help with a liver transplant at 6 a.m. He left home at about 4 a.m. and headed to the bus stop.''

“All that we know is that he went to the bus stop and that he was robbed, and he was shot, and he died at the scene,” said Moss''.

''A Tragic Death, A Tragic Lawsuit

Stephen Halton Jr. was an anesthesia technician at the Cleveland Clinic. He was on call on January 11, 2014 when he was paged to assist in a liver transplant surgery. On his way to the hospital, he was gunned down by a still-unknown assailant.
After this tragedy, Stephen’s family applied for death compensation benefits from Cleveland Clinic to support his widow and two young children, aged 6 and 8. The Ohio Industrial Commission refused the claim originally, but changed their decision on appeal when they found that Stephen’s employment contract specifically stated that time spent going to the hospital counted as paid, on-call time. The Cleveland Clinic was required to pay back benefits and start paying regular benefits going forward. But now there’s a new twist – Cleveland Clinic has filed an appeal to block payment of those benefits.''

''The case would have been indisputable if Stephen had been at the hospital when he was killed, but the Clinic is looking for an opening because he was still en route''.

IMHO Cleveland Clinic has become so much less than what it once was. They openly embrace pseudoscience and this just solidifies their decline from greatness.
Such an injustice for this family - added to their loss.
