Okay, found the court records on this one.
Larry Maynard born in 1978. Only OPEN case for a Larry Maynard.

http://www.fcmcclerk.com/case/rs/search.php

They are starting to issue subpoenas to people.
He is scheduled for JURY trial on 8/19/2013.
She is scheduled for JURY trial on 8/20/2013.

Interesting note, there is an alert on HER... for a temporary restraining order.
There does not appear to be a temporary restraining order for him.

Her only previous offenses are civil/traffic from what I can see.
He was charged with domestic violence in 1997.
Other than that I just see civil, eviction, traffic, etc on him as well.

The charges are dropped.

Both Maynards were charged with misdemeanor counts of domestic violence and assault. A protection order was issued to keep Mrs. Maynard away from Sarah.

Yesterday, the charges against Mr. Maynard, 34, were dismissed.

Prosecutors and Sarah agreed to drop those charges because he completed court-ordered parenting classes, a psychological assessment and counseling, said Lara Baker-Morrish, the city’s chief prosecutor.

Mr. Maynard also agreed not to fight the transfer of Sarah’s custody to her maternal grandmother, Barbara Herrmann, Baker-Morrish said.

“That alleviates a lot of her concerns about testifying in court against her father,” she said.
Mrs. Maynard, 33, has a trial date set for next Tuesday, but charges likely will be dropped after it’s verified that she completed the required classes and assessments, Baker-Morrish said.

The writer doesn't mention anything about what Sarah went through. She sounds very pro-Larry & his second family, imo. I mean, what is it exactly that Larry went through? Bringing his daughter into his new family? Wow, oh, gee! Actually, I can see where there could be some friction. Still, I would think that compassion would override friction.

My heart goes out to Sarah. I'm glad that she is staying with her grandmother.

Knox County local here, I know the last post was from 2013 but I felt it was necessary to bring this up. The Sheriff in charge of the search for SM and the three deceased, as well as the rescue of SM recently passed away two years ago. From what I know it was suicide. Our county lost a hero two years ago and the events of 2010 had to have been hell on Barber and I am wondering if these events may have played a role in his decision.

I remember this case. The hollow tree, the leaves all over the floor in his house. It was a horrifying case.

That should be a good podcast. Does it come on TV?
