Man Indicted for Kidnapping a 60-Year-Old Woman and Shoving Her Body in a Plastic Container in Cleveland

5/10/2023

CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced that a Cuyahoga County grand jury has returned an indictment charging Dalontay Edmond-Geiger Sr., 31, for kidnapping, stabbing, and shoving a 60-year-old woman into a plastic container in Cleveland.

“I have seen a lot of truly terrible cases over the years, and this one is one of the most horrific I’ve seen,” said Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley. “Thankfully, law enforcement found her alive, and I am praying for her recovery.”

In May 2023, Dalontay Edmond-Geiger Sr. picked up the victim, 60, and gave her a ride to his residence near West 97th Street and Henley Court in Cleveland. He physically assaulted her, stabbed her in the arm, zip tied her hands, and proceeded to torture her.

On May 2, 2023, the Cleveland Division of Police (CPD) responded to a welfare check at Edmond-Geiger Sr.’s residence. CPD located the victim inside a small plastic container, moaning in pain, on the porch. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she is being treated for her injuries. Edmond-Geiger Sr. was arrested on the scene.

Dalontay Edmond-Geiger Sr. has been indicted on the following charges:

  • One count of Attempted Murder
  • Two counts of Felonious Assault
  • One count of Kidnapping
  • One count of Tampering With Evidence
  • One count of Having Weapons Under Disability
You can view the indictment here.

He will be arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center on Monday, May 15 at 8:30 a.m.

her name is in the indictment and seems he was in possesion of an AK and if I am reading it correctly, I could be wrong, it seems he got it in the commision of an offense. IMO

Poor woman ... and he is 31 and she is 60

3/4 of a Mil on this offense? I don't know anything about his capacity to procure or pay that bond but it seems this guy could end up back on the street! If its not clear: I think that is a low number considering the crime and its circumstances. JMO

I can not understand why there is not more media coverage of this. This and the driver trying to enter the WH in a UHaul has no coverage.
