Youngstown police investigate human skeletal remains found by Salt Springs Road and Oneta Avenue

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown police are investigating skeletal remains that were found near the roadside in the area of Salt Springs Road and Oneta Avenue.

Officers were first called to the area on Wednesday.

When they arrived, they spoke with Ohio Department of Transportation workers who had discovered bones near the roadway.

An investigator with the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office and members of the Youngstown Police Department’s Detective Division responded to investigate.

They determined that the skeletal remains were human after preliminary analysis from the coroner’s office, along with an anthropologist.

The identity and sex of the individual have not been determined.

Youngstown Police Department detectives are investigating the incident.

The detective assigned to the case, Sgt. Dave Sweeney, is in charge of missing person cases. He handled the last case where a skeleton was found and was able to identify it.

Maybe Kricket Reinbold? Originally from Pa.

Variations of spellings of the name Kricket, but she is under this spelling on Missing forum.

@Sunrisenow was kind enough to let us know another body found in Youngstown was Kricket.

So on Jan 13 2021 Kricket Rinebold's remains were found, and on Jan 15 2021 - other UID remains were found (the subject of this thread) also at Salt Springs Road and Oneta Avenue, is this a known "dumping" spot? speculation, imo.

''Skeletal remains that were discovered last month in Youngstown have now been positively identified as those of a woman who had been reported missing. Police were called to a spot along Salt Springs Road and Oneta Avenue on January 13, when someone working for the Ohio Department of Transportation made the discovery. The Mahoning County Coroner’s office now reports that the remains have been formally identified as those of 37-year-old Kricket Rinebold – whose family had reported her missing June 14. The family became worried when they saw a Facebook post that they said was out of character for Rinebold – who had moved to Youngstown a little more than a year ago and had been living with a man along Hartzell Avenue. The Coroner’s office is continuing the follow-up investigation in an effort to determine a cause and manner of her death.''
