Interestingly the Sheriff said that RJ told him he saw him on the news or Tv, I can’t remember specific word.

But when asked if he had a cellphone they wouldn’t reveal what resources he had.

Did say he was found alone and in a structure.

We held the first press conference, I asked for the media's help, and we got it. How I know that to be true is where I met and spoke with RJ. When I was hugging him, he said, "Hey, I saw you on the news." So, what you did worked. Thank you. RJ is safe, he is sound, and we stand by our promise: HE WILL NOT GO BACK TO THAT PROPERTY. MISSING CHILD LOCATED IN CADDO COUNTY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
JANUARY 11, 2026

CHICKASHA, OK - On January 7, 2026, the Chickasha Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate the suspicious disappearance of 12-year-old R.J.

On the evening of January 2, 2026, R.J. was reported as a runaway to law enforcement. He was last seen near Fourth Street and Grand Avenue in Chickasha.

During the investigation, OSBI special agents spoke to R.J.s' mother, 33-year-old Kimberly Cole and his step-father, 43-year-old George Cole Jr. Based on the information and evidence gathered, both parents were arrested and booked into the Caddo County Jail on multiple complaints of child abuse.

The OSBI, along with several other law enforcement agencies and search groups, continued searching for Davis.

On January 11, 2026, R.J. was located in rural Caddo County by the United Cajun Navy search group. R.J. was treated by medical personnel and transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The OSBI and Oklahoma Human Services will locate a safe home for R.J. moving forward.

This is still an ongoing investigation at this time. Once the investigation is complete, the District 6 District Attorney's Office will determine official charges for the two suspects.

The OSBI appreciates the Chickasha Police Department, Grady County Sheriff's Office, Caddo County Sheriff's Office, District 6 District Attorney's Office Task Force, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation, Oklahoma Human Services, and the Department of Corrections/Office of Inspector General for their continued assistance with this investigation.

He knows this either from professional experience, personal experience or both. It's so heartbreaking that there are many kids who feel this way due to their learned experience.

RJ is a tough young man. He knew he was in trouble and at his young age and without resources that he knew about he did what he could towards self preservation. I admire him so much and those that intervened on his behalf.

I did not see this outcome and have never been so happy to be wrong. Looking back, I think LE must have believed the run away report evidenced (for me) by how they encouraged people to search.

Online records now show that George Cole, who is the stepfather, faces 10 charges in connection with alleged abuse and neglect. He was charged with eight counts of child abuse, one count of child sexual abuse, and one count of child neglect.

The 12-year-old boy's biological mother, Kimberly Cole, faces 11 charges. She was charged with three counts of child abuse, three counts of child neglect, two counts of child sexual abuse, two counts of crimes against nature and one count of conspiracy.
