Faith Marie Van Nortrick

Case Classification: Endangered Missing
Missing Since: August 7, 2004
Location Last Seen: Sallisaw, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma
Van Nortrick was last seen in the vicinity of Chickasaw Avenue and Elm Street in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at 4:00 p.m. on August 7, 2004. She had been reported missing a few days prior to this, after walking away from her home in Hitchcock, Texas when her son attempted to have her committed to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
Van Nortrick was arrested that day on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly after she began behaving erratically at a convenience store. The arresting officer noted that her speech was slurred and her pupils were dilated. After she was booked, the police discovered that Van Nortrick was not intoxicated. Her family was asked to come pick her up, but no one was able to so she was released. She has never been heard from again.
At the time of her disappearance, Van Nortrick was suffering from schizophrenia. Her relatives reported that although it caused her to wander, it was uncharacteristic of her to be out of contact with her family. She was not carrying any identification at the time of her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved and her whereabouts remain unknown.
