On June 28, 1981, MP left her residence in Poteau, OK, to travel to Tulsa to her daughter's residence, however, she never arrived at the residence. The following day her car was found in the Tulsa Airport Parking Lot by the daughter. MP has not been seen again since that date.

I wonder why the authorities thought she left of her own accord...had Ina said something to someone prior to disappearing?

IMO it could just as easily have been foul play. Ina was barely five feet tall and approximately 90 lbs. Sadly, it would not likely have been too hard for someone to overpower her.

Ina M. Arnall left her residence in Poteau on May 28th, 1981 to never be seen or heard from her since. The 46 year old was headed 100 miles away to Tulsa to visit her daughter. She never showed up at her daughter’s home. The following day on May 29th, Ina’s daughter found her mother car, a diesel-powered four door 1980’s Oldsmobile, abandoned at the Tulsa International Airport.

Authorities believe Ina left on her own and could have possible traveled to Nevada or San Francisco..

Ina was a small statured women at only 5’ tall and only 104 pounds. She had brown hair and hazel eyes.

She was last seen in a multicolored blouse, purple skirt, half slip, pantyhose, and brown sandals. She had several pieces of jewelry, a diamond wedding set, a diamond dinner ring, a bracelet with diamonds, and a diamond watch.

Ina may have been wearing an off-white raincoat and might use the surname Kreitlein. She would be 88 years old today

Poteau, OK is very near AR border and approximate 130 miles to Tulsa, OK as shown below. I don't know anything about this case or Ms. Arnall's history for leaving (driving, or flying for that matter) or her familial relationships, etc.

It does strike me that her car was found at the Tulsa airport the day after she was supposed to arrive in town. I know relationships are different, but if my Mom was coming to visit me and did not show, I would not be looking for her car at the airport ... I don't know, it's just kind of strange to me.

Regarding this statement in my post - searching a little I did run across some information in a blog (for which I deem credible) that would indicate her vehicle was found several days after she was supposed to arrive and included a myriad of evidentiary items as well as information regarding her relationship with her husband. I have some understanding now that I did not have when I originally posted

I was able to compare Ms. Ina’s MP13768 to UP212. Both the missing person and unidentified person have DNA profiles uploaded into national databases and I can confirm these cases have been excluded as a possible match. Thank you for the submission,

A small snippet. In the article Ina's daughter says she believes her now deceased father had something to do with his wife's disappearance.

..... On Thursday, May 28, 1981, Ina visited her daughter in Tulsa to celebrate then-26-year-old Debbie’s impending nuptials at a bridal shower. “It was a week before my wedding,” Debbie said....

And another

Debbie says her father told her that Ina had returned to Poteau the night before, but the evening took a turn. “This is what he says: ‘She came here, and we went out to your brother’s property,’” Debbie remembered. Debbie’s brother had just bought a new house out in the country, but on the night of May 28, 1981, her brother wasn’t home. “He wasn’t there. He was working,” Debbie said. “‘And when we were driving back, your mom got mad and when we got back to my office, she just -- she got in her car and left,’”

....

Tulsa PD processed Ina’s car.....“The seats were pushed back, and the Tulsa police report stated that they didn’t believe that she would have been able to -- due to her size -- that she would have been able to properly drive that car in that manner.”
