she had a couple of charges for uttering bogus checks around 1985 - 1987 from what I found in the newspapers. The divorce was granted in 1985 but it would seem based off the check charges that she still lived near or with her husband on Kentucky ave

You always have to be eyeing the spouse/ex spouse when someone disappears after an argument, but is it even possible in this case? I read that she was out bowling not just with her ex-husband but also with her children and some friends. So he wasn't the only one there. She went outside at 11.30pm and was never seen again. Presumably, the ex-husband stayed inside with the children and friends. The only way I can see this being him is if he followed her out, killed her, hid her in the boot of his car, and waited until a later date to dispose of her. Possible, if the argument happened outside.

But a stranger murder does also seem very possible. RIP Joann. I feel like this is another one which could have been solved with a bit more detective work. She was found seven months after she went missing with a PMI of months or years, only (roughly) a 40 minute drive away from where she went missing.
