On 03-08-1999 Leighton Thomas Willis was involved in a single vehicle collision and left the scene on I-35 and MM 203 in Noble County Oklahoma. He was contacted by a Wichita Police Officer on 04-24-1999 at 1421 hours. Willis has not been seen or hear of since the accident by any family members. He was reported missing on 04-26-1999 and entered in NCIC on 04-27-1999. To this date 12-02-2020 Leighton Thomas Willis has not been seen or heard of by family members.

There are a lot of questions here. What happened to his car? Is it missing too? Why did the police in Wichita (about 90 minutes away, in a different state) have contact with him 6 weeks after the accident? Why only after the Wichita police contact was he then reported missing?

Good questions. I assumed his car was left at the scene, after not hearing from him for awhile and being unable to reach him, his family called police, police reached him somehow (?) but family still couldn't, so family filed a formal missing person's report on April 26, 1999.
That's my speculation based on how it's written.

My question: Where was he living in March of 1999 (his own apartment or house or?) and did he never go back to his residence? And if not, how did LE contact him in April?
