Authorities have found a shallow grave of human remains during an investigation prompted by the discovery of a human skull on Easter day, in a rural area just southwest of Wellston. Oklahoma initiated a search of the area near 960 East Road and County Road 3310.

The skull showed signs of trauma, and the skull appears to be that of a male.

A body was found in the area before. In October 2012, not far down the road, a man was tied up and shot twice in the head. Investigators believe that murder was related to drug activity.

In November 2012, a marijuana grow was found in the area.

Human remains were found April 5 off of Highway 66 between Luther and Wellston, and police said the remains had marks consistent with trauma.

The remains were identified as those of Pierre Cleveland. Cleveland was listed as a missing person in Oklahoma City in July 2014.

Jackson was already in jail for an unrelated crime. Now, he is also facing a charge of first-degree murder.
