McALESTER An escaped inmate from Iowa was picked up by McAlester police after he was reported to be walking around town naked.
David William Allison, 49, of Des Moines, Iowa, was charged June 7 in Pittsburg County District Court with lewd exhibition of person, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
On June 6, McAlester police officer Kevin Bishop was dispatched to the area in front of Kentucky Fried Chicken on a report of a male subject walking around the center median with no clothes on, a police affidavit alleges. When asked why he wasnt wearing clothes, Allison allegedly told police he was paranoid and he thought that someone was following him. He then told officers that since he could not get ahold of the police department, he decided to walk around naked in public to get them to come to him.

Allison allegedly said he had smoked weed about an hour before officers came into contact with him, the affidavit states. After searching him, police found a clear plastic baggy with methamphetamine in it and a syringe, the affidavit alleges.
