Silver Alert issued for missing Pittsburg County man (kxii.com)

A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Pittsburg County man.

• 81-year-old Oscar James Greene of Savanna was last seen around 3 a.m. Monday.
• Greene is 6' tall, 135 pounds with green eyes and gray hair and a short beard.
• He was last seen wearing a brown jacket and gloves.
• Greene was driving a 2006 maroon Dodge Caravan with Oklahoma plate ELZ-802.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Savanna Police Chief David Spears at 918-429-2105 or the Pittsburg County Sheriffs office at 918-423-5858.

The Savanna Police Department has canceled a Silver Alert for 81-year-old Oscar James Green.

Green went missing from his home in Savanna Oklahoma around 3 p.m. on Monday. Police say Green has been located and is safe.

I'm sure the license plate info helped. I almost had to report my elderly dad missing. He was 95 and had gone on a cross country trip to see his family in Colorado. Being mostly deaf, he didn't answer his cell phone, but he told me he would be staying in the same motel he had stayed in, on the way over to Colorado. So time comes for him to get back home, and no Dad. I call the motel and they remember him well - but only from his first trip. He didn't arrive on the way back. Panic.

But in fact Dad had merely decided to stay someplace else, didn't think to call me, etc.

Mr. Green probably never gave a thought to where he was and did not consider himself missing - my dad sure didn't consider himself missing!
