Details of Disappearance

Shannon Ketron was allegedly abducted while driving with his mother, Ann Ketron, on June 17th 1982 in Cordell, Oklahoma. His mother stated that she and the child were driving in her silver 1978 Pontiac between Buffalo and Cordell. She would go on to stated that she pulled over on along a dirt road on the side of Route 183 so that she could retrieve something.

An unidentified male stopped next to her and asked if she needed assistance and if everything was okay. Ann assured him that everything was fine and that she was in no need of assistance. She said the man told her she looked like his ex-wife and proceeded to knock her out. When she woke up, the man was gone and Shannon was missing. She also noticed that a green duffel bag was also missing.

The man was described as standing at 5 feet 10 inches and was approximately 175 pounds in 1982. He had a dark complexion and was driving a green late model GMC truck. The man has not been identified and Shannon has not been seen since. Ann did take a polygraph test regarding her son’s disappearance but the results have not been publicly released.

Shannon’s disappearance remains unsolved. His father, Dustin Ketron, was in jail for burglary at the time of Shannon’s abduction. Some agencies list July 17th 1982 as the date of Shannon’s abduction and give his date of birth as November 12th 1979.

Sorry, but the mother's story sounds absolutely bogus. Why would her polygraph results not be released if she passed? My guess is that Shannon was accidentally killed, the mother panicked and invented this fiction.

I expect the stolen green duffel bag was a cover story in case Shannon's body was found inside it. Little fella could've been dumped anywhere. Even if by some miracle his remains were ever recovered, I doubt they could definitively prove who did it.

I am wondering if she went to the hospital with injuries from being "knocked out."

Was she panicked and searching for her baby, after getting out of the hospital?

With both parents gone now, we will never know the truth, IMO. ETA: Unless he was adopted and comes forward after connecting with relatives through those DNA home testing kits, or something like that. JMO verrry unlikely.
