From your link, the article says one of his brothers died just 9 hours before they learned of the discovery of the car and bodies.

VanZandt also noted that another brother, Ray Vasquez, died only nine hours before the family learned the Camaro had been found. "How God has his way of making things work out it's just really amazing," she said.
