BRUSHY — Authorities are searching for an 87-year-old man they said went missing about noon Friday.

Vonnie Turner was last seen along State Highway 59 near the Adair County line. He was reportedly wearing a brown, checkered shirt and blue jeans.

Authorities said he has dementia and was trying to hitchhike and may be on his way to Stilwell or Sallisaw.

Anyone with information on Turner’s whereabouts should call the Sequoyah County sheriff’s office at (918) 775-9155.
