OCSO said Zachary Paul Smith Sr. was last seen around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday at his home near Windridge Drive.

Smith's son said his father was experiencing a mental health crisis and left his home.

The family reported that Smith's vehicle was found abandoned near Dustin, Oklahoma.

Zachary Smith Sr. disappeared on Dec. 8, and now multiple counties, including Osage, Okmulgee, and McIntosh, are looking into the peculiar circumstances of this case.

His son said his dad went missing from Sand Springs, and his car was later found abandoned in Dustan, Oklahoma, along the Indian Nation Turnpike.

The family discovered numerous items scattered around his car, including some credit cards.

Adding to the mystery of this case, a box was later found tucked in some bushes in Okmulgee County.

It was filled with deeds and personal paperwork that belonged to the Smith family.

I wonder if KHS turned up and why Zach was so concerned? Who is she to him, and is this post an indicator of what set him off into a mental health crisis, an inability to reach the woman mentioned?

KHS is his wife according to FB.

thanks, so she is not reported missing. I wonder if they had a disagreement and she turned off phone or blocked him for a cooling down period and that is what prompted his mental health crisis. I hope they find him safe. Family sounds super worried. I notice the son appears to be the one speaking for the family and not KHS.

Yes, I was thinking along those lines too. Fingers crossed he's ok.

Eric Cullen is a well-known private investigator in the Tulsa area who owns Cullen Investigations.

2 News sat down with him to learn more about the process of sifting through the evidence currently spread throughout Oklahoma over five counties.

“What we will be doing is kind of two lanes, a dual role. We will be investigating whether or not there was any kind of foul play in this situation. That’s first. Just a close second and almost at the same time, we are going to start tomorrow an actual search of the area around his car. Here at day five, if indeed he did get himself into some trouble or he is hurt, it’s still possible that we could rescue him,” said Cullen.

A private search for Zach Smith Sr. on Dec. 13 in McIntosh County will begin at 7:30 AM.

UPDATE (12/12/24) — The Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office said missing Zachary Smith Jr. was possibly spotted in Hartshorne on Tuesday.

PCSO said the possible last sighting of Smith was at a bar in Hartshorne.

PCSO said it is believed Smith is on foot, with no known destination.

Friday morning, Private Investigator Eric Cullen and his team began searching for any sign of Smith.

They searched an area near where Smith's car was found, at the Dustin exit off the Indian Nation Turnpike.

Cullen brought in dogs, drones and horses for the search

Now, investigators found clues about his disappearance in five counties, including Tulsa County, where he lives.

  • Osage County: Where Smith was last seen
  • McIntosh County: Smith’s car found here near the Indian Nation turnpike
  • Hughes County: initial responders when car located
  • Okmulgee County: A box of paperwork and personal belongings found
  • McIntosh County: Passport found in Henryetta

Private investigator Eric Cullen is leading the search.

He said there was a glimmer of hope when the K-9 hit on something near where Smith’s car was found.

“At mile marker 94 where the car was found, the tracking dog started right inside the fence on the property which was just west where the car was found, and picked up a scent and headed north. But the scent went cold,” said Cullen.

After searching for hours, Cullen said the team will now turn their attention to Smith’s vehicle.

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for Smith’s car.

“His car is going to be digitally and forensically checked today. Tracking, cameras, car play, anything to see if we can discover anything from that. Law enforcement is taking care of that,” said Cullen.

“They are going to get the key to the car, and they are going to try and pull footage from the car. I guess the cars have cameras in them and they can try to find evidence that he was in the car or whoever was in the car,” said Smith.

2 News sat down with private investigator Eric Cullen to discuss any new updates in this case.

He tells me they have received several tips to their company line, and while a tip is great, Cullen said proof of life is even better.

Investigators got a search warrant for Smith’s car. However, Cullen said the data did not reveal anything significant.

But then, on Dec. 15, a few more clues were discovered in this case.

“On Sunday night, late, Zach Smith Jr. found Zach Smith Sr.’s phone, wallet, and key fob directly to the east of where the Corvette was found,” said Cullen.
