I actually thought I wrote this for a minute. My thoughts exactly

Hard agree. She’d been telling people about the coins and trying to find the specific person who they were going to, IIRC. She didn’t know where they were and had to ask around. I think someone got the idea the coins were worth a lot more or it was just a small portion of a larger amount, and the homeless girl was a set up from the start.

The conditions of her disappearance definitely make it seem like she trusted someone/some people and they took advantage of that. It doesn't seem like the criminal(s) were strangers. I don't think she had any idea of the desperation in this area even though she had lived there previously
