Found Safe OR - Gregory Gaponuk, 79, did not return from bicycle ride, Salem, 5 Sept 2020

Salem residents, please help us locate a missing elderly gentleman of our community. Gregory Gaponuk is 79-years old and has not returned from a bicycle ride yesterday afternoon, September 5.

Mr. Gaponuk is a white male, gray hair, 5 ft. 6 in. tall, clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a light gray jacket, brown pants, black bicycle helmet and riding a black bicycle.

He speaks Russian and no English. He is also hard of hearing. Mr. Gaponuk does not have friends in the area. It is unlike him to be gone for more than a couple of hours. He did not take any food or water with him.
He rides his bicycle in the area of Regal and Royalty DR NE.
If you see Mr. Gaponuk, please call Salem Police Dispatch at 503-588-6123, option 1.

I wonder who reported him missing, with a description of his clothing and other details, if he doesn’t have friends in the area. Or am I misunderstanding that part? He looks like such a nice guy. I’m afraid this doesn’t sound good.
