Human remains have been found northwest of Shady Cove, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department reported.

A human bone was found by a contracted forestry worker late Tuesday off Highway 227 about nine miles from Shady Cove, said Sgt. Shawn Richards, search-and-rescue supervisor for the sheriff's department.
