Woman reported missing in Umatilla County amid flooding

Janet Tobkin Conley, 62, was last seen at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Bar M Ranch area of rural Northeast Umatilla County. Kevin Jeffries, with the Office of Emergency Management/Umatilla County Joint Information Center, said her home is surrounded by high water and the road to her home is impassable due to flooding from the Umatilla River.

He said there's no reason to believe she's in danger. Authorities are trying to account for everyone and she hasn't been accounted for.

Flooding in northwest US starts to abate; 21 people evacuated to safety

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Oregon National Guard troops aboard two helicopters airlifted 21 people to safety on Saturday, and authorities reported a 62-year-old woman who lived in one of the areas hit by floods was missing.

The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office also says that it is searching for a woman who went missing near Bar M Ranch, which has had flooding in recent days. Janet Tobkin Conley, 62, was last seen about 7 p.m. Thursday in the Bar M Ranch area.

Missing woman found dead in eastern Oregon, officials say apparently 'swept away by rushing water'

A 62-year-old woman who was reported missing Saturday amid the flooding in Umatilla County has been found dead, according to the Umatilla Flood Joint Information Center.

Conley was found Sunday morning on the Bar M Ranch property by searchers and neighbors. Officials say it appears she was "swept away by rushing water."
