Last contact was with her daughter in 2014. Missing person left for Summit, NJ and hasn't been heard from since 2014.

This surname caught my attention - with my recent DNA test, I matched to a 3rd cousin named M. Kane (not sure if it is her bio name, adopted name or married name). She is too young to be this lady and she states she was adopted. I'm hoping she will respond to my message.

There is nothing on Facebook that I can find regarding a Jean Kane being missing. There is a lady named Jean Kane on Facebook but no idea if that is any relation.

I wish there were more details regarding her situation. Leaving from Eugene, OR for Summit, NJ is quite a drive unless she was taking a bus, train or plane? It seems strange that in 2014 the daughter couldn't/wouldn't/didn't provide a photo.

My mother, Jean Kane, is schizophrenic and left our home state of NJ many years ago. Due to her mental illness she was homeless and refused any help. However, she always maintained contact with me via phone calls and letters. The last contact I had from her was in 2014. She had left Eugene Oregon at that time and was in protective custody in Montana with the intent of returning home. I have been unsuccessful in locating her since that time. She is approximately 5’3” tall with red hair snd blue eyes. Unfortunately the only photos I have of her are from many years ago.

Welcome to Websleuths! It’s great that you can bring us up to date. An old photo can still be very helpful for bone structure. I hope you are able to scan one and upload it.

If she was in custody in Montana they had to have taken a photo right? Can you get access to that photo? Can you get records about her from where she was held? You never know what may be a clue!
