I wonder where exactly?

Aufderheide Drive was in a burn area in 2018. It was the Terwilliger Fire.

Here's a good description of Aufderheide Drive. I've been on it many times the whole 60 miles.

This article reminds me there was also a massive fire in 2020.

It's very possible there was nothing nefarious about a charred UID in that area, but we need more info.

Is there any chance this could be Shane Sprenger who was last seen in Vida, Oregon on 11/2/2021? McKenzie Bridge is only 23 miles from there. Also, Forest Road 19's intersection with Highway 126 is only 20 minutes from Vida.

From the NAMUS: "The area in which this body was discovered had been burnt extensively in the Holiday Farm Fire in Lane County, 2020. This decedent may be a victim of the fire."

I agree that a Holiday Farm Fire victim is the most likely scenario but with the proximity to Vida, I was thinking it could be a logical place to leave someone's burned remains and try to make it appear that they were a fire victim. Either scenario is really sad.
