Marcine Herinck left her home in the 1500 block of Northeast 150th Avenue and has not returned. A community member reported they observed a person believed to be Herinck walking westbound on Northeast Glisan Street near Glendoveer Golf Course, located at 14015 Northeast Glisan Street. The person was observed wearing a royal blue lightweight jacket. The community member reportedly saw Herinck at 7:30 a.m. this morning.

I assume the police and family have been in contact with hospitals. She may not know who she is. Some days I wonder who I am!

Here's a local news video (link below) - they have used search dogs and are looking at Tri-Met (bus system) video footage but haven't found anything She was dropped off at home Tuesday. Her purse was on the kitchen floor and a cup of coffee was in the microwave. The clothes she wore were on her bed. So, it sounds like she made it into the house when she was dropped off. I think they also said she may have gone missing Tuesday night as well as Wednesday morning. I really hope nobody brought harm to her. She looks so kind. I used to worry so much about my mom when she was older and insisted on living on her own. I feel terrible for Marcine's family, they must be terribly worried.

Herinck’s garage door was wide-open and her keys, phone and purse were left untouched in the house. She doesn’t drive and doesn’t own a car, but will often greet visitors from the garage, instead of opening her front door to them.

Oh, this is just so scary I hate to think that someone came to her home and she opened her garage door to them. I really hope that's not the case. I hope neighbors have cameras that were checked to see if anyone may have been in the area or she was walking by. I am sure that's all been covered since they had the dogs out the first day. I feel so bad for her and her family - they all must be so worried

"Portland Police Bureau presumptively identified the woman found dead inside a car during a traffic stop Monday night as 89-year-old Marcine Herinck."

"A medical examiner determined the woman died of homicidal violence and police arrested the driver, 58-year-old Timothy J. Mackley, on a murder charge. He was booked in the Multnomah County Jail."

Sex offender charged in killing of missing 89-year-old Portland woman

A registered sex offender with a self-described history of mental illness is suspected of killing the 4-foot-10 grandmother after he trailed her home from her volunteer shift at Portland Adventist Community Services.

Authorities on Wednesday charged Timothy Joseph Mackley, 58, in Herinck's death. Her body was found in Mackley's car Monday night during a traffic stop.

Timothy Mackley, 58, appeared in a Portland court Wednesday — nearly a week after she went missing — and pleaded not guilty to murdering 89-year-old Marcine Herinck. He also waived his right to a probable cause hearing.

Mackley is a convicted sex offender who has a criminal history in Washington state and Oregon in the 1980s. He pleaded guilty to sexual abuse and sodomy in Multnomah County and was sentenced to prison in 1989, court records show.
