Circumstances:
Sandra was last seen entering her bedroom @ 7:30 pm Tuesday, June 21st, 1960 after a minor quarrel with her husband. It was reported by the Sheriff’s office that Sandra had been poor health as a result of Tuberculosis and that she may have left through a bedroom window of the home.

(100) volunteers were brought in to search for Sandra aided with helicopters and bloodhounds. The bloodhounds traced Sandra’s trail 1-1/2 miles east of her home towards Corvallis to US Highway 20 the hounds lost her scent after that.

One theory was that Sandra may have hitched a ride on Highway 20. However this theory was discounted by family and friends that Sandra would not have left her (4) small children behind.

To this day the whereabouts nor remains have ever been found of Sandra.

Bump.
Suspicion of the husband is increased by subsequent events. In 1960 he was arrested for the rape of one of his stepdaughters (presumably Sandra's daughter) as recorded in the two attached clippings. The first clipping is lifted from Ancestry and does not show a date, but the second is from the Statesman Journal in Salem, Oregon dated 15 September 1960. James Melvin Fox, the husband, died in 1987.
