A 17-year-old boy has been found deceased at the residence of his mother and her boyfriend, who have been arrested.

Lakeview, OR is a small town in southern Oregon. The Lake County Sheriff's Office doesn't seem to have a social media presence. Most of what I've read so far has been on community facebook pages which can't be posted here.

It sounds like this may turn out to be a pretty horrific story but we'll have to wait for details to reach court or the news media.

Here's another article. No new information, but I am using this thread to document which media outlets are covering this story, so I know where to check for later stories.

LE/Officials "attempted to serve a court-ordered protection order for a 17-year-old living at [the] residence" but found him deceased when they searched the property.

I assume that means someone contacted authorities. How tragic is that: someone knew at least some of what was happening, tried to save him, but the accused had already allegedly murdered him. So dang sad.

Unsure if this has new info or not -- the article is dated today so it may.

I sure wish we could do something in this country about the under-staffed and overworked Departments of Human Services who try so hard to help these kids but there just aren't enough resources or workers to do it. I know so many workers personally whose hearts break for these kiddos but they are all under staffed and can't keep their eyes on every case. May this sweet fella rest in peace. Too cruel a world for his short life :(

As the details of Thomas's case unfolds it will become obvious that he was "missing" long enough that it should have drawn attention. Especially given the protection order for Thomas.

Amanda Edwards (Thomas Strong's mother/accused killer) was in court a few days ago and apparently again today. Oregon Court records don't show much but it does appear that last month they requested a change of venue out of tiny Lake County.

Those screenshots came from this link OREGON JUDICIAL DEPARTMENT - Online Records Search but I expect you'd need to start at the home page and search for the mother's name to access the case records, as I did.
