1. this is the first body recovered for the week of April 9-16 unlike the second body, sex (M/F) is not given
2. Both bodies were found along the same East bank Esplanade not far from each other
This is very heavily travelled area, and there are no known bridge jumpers reported near these dates
3. Unlike other recent cases, I haven't been able to find a tip line number or an assigned investigator to contact with tips
4. There has been no follow up reporting).
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A body was found floating in the Willamette River Tuesday night along the Eastbank Esplanade, authorities said.
According to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, just after 7:30 p.m., a passerby reported seeing the body floating just south of the Burnside Bridge. Portland Fire and boats from the sheriff’s office responded to the scene and said that around 8:15 they pulled the body from the river taking it to Cathedral Park to meet the medical examiner.
The death is still under investigation and information is limited at this time.
