Just when I think I can't be disgusted more than I've been, then it happens again. The alleged victim is a child under the age of 10.

Sarah Marie Session and her parents, Gary and Paula Hardenburg, 65 and 60, were indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday on a slew of charges – including, for Session, second-degree attempted murder.

Between June 1, 2023, and Feb. 6, 2024, Session forced the child to eat vomit, hit the child with curtain rods and a doorstopper, and withheld food and medical care, according to the indictment.

Since the article will be under a paywall for most, here are some highlights (more like lowlights)
  • Woman worked in “specialized education and training” for childcare
  • She faces 19 of 28 charges.
  • Per court records, she was indicted for first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, five counts of third-degree assault, eight counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment and two counts of coercion.
  • Her mother and father face charges of second-degree assault and first and second-degree criminal mistreatment of the child, as well as tampering with physical evidence. The father has first-degree criminal mistreatment added to his charges.
  • The sheriff's office says there was a "lengthy investigation” into the family.
  • Lastly, LE says she (the woman) appears to be evading law enforcement.

Appears there's a $1 million nationwide felony arrest warrant has been issued for all 3 of them. Wow!

A $1 million nationwide felony arrest warrant has been issued for a south Deschutes County woman indicted on 19 counts, including attempted murder, in a disturbing child abuse case. Her parents also are wanted on warrants for a lesser set of felony charges, court documents show.
$1 million warrant issued for S. Deschutes County woman accused of attempted murder, child abuse; parents also sought

Apparently she was charged back in April of last year for these crimes with similar but lesser charges and they were dropped because the state wasn't ready to take it to GJ. here is her booking info from that time. It appears that now that prosecutors are ready to move forward she and her parents are in the wind, hence the nationwide warrant.

Sunriver woman sought by police forced child to eat vomit, court records allege

I'll never understand how a GROUP of adults will engage in child abuse. How do they all collectively find a way to justify it in their own minds??

Looks like the woman has been arrested according to the Sheriff. I'm thinking the parents will be found and arrested soon, JMO!

Van der Kamp told us his detectives had informed him of the arrest Sarah Marie Session and he was awaiting further details.

I wonder how these subhumans are feeling about their decision to “avoid” LE after their indictment on Wednesday. Seems like all it did was provoke LE into holding a press conference to make sure that everyone in their community and across the state knows exactly what kind of people they are. Enjoy the spotlight aholes.

Informative but leaves me with more questions.

1. Dad speaks.

Dad tried to get son back from stepmom, who never adopted him. When he showed Sheriff his custody papers, he says Sheriff responded that he wouldn't remove him from a stable home.

She got a restraining order that stopped him from seeing son, yet their two young children lived with Dad in AZ.

Then early 2024 protective services informed him that his son was in the hospital. He was dehydrated, malnourished, beaten, had a brain injury. The child was in the hospital for over two months and had to learn to walk and talk again.

Dad says son is doing much better but has more work to do.

2. Stepmom's parent's no-contact order lifted; plea hearing postponed to May:

3. They almost got away with it.

"Child abuse charges against Session had been dismissed almost a year ago. But Sgt. Jason Wall, with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office, said the county district attorney’s office left the case open for investigators to take another look."

4. Stepmom complains the founded accusations could hurt her career "taking care of" children.

"Session [the stepmother] is a licensed teacher in the State of Oregon. Court records show that in January, Session filed a petition to the court to review a Department of Human Services investigation into her because it claimed it possessed “founded” accusations that Session abused the child. Session argued that the “founded” allegations could harm her ability to work as a teacher or advance in her career. She also argued the founded status could harm her ability to operate a certified home for foster children, or to volunteer in her children’s schools."
