There will be a course on OSINT for missing persons (Open Source Intelligence) at DEFCON in Las Vegas next week, as well as TraceLabs Missing Persons CTF (capture-the-flag exercise) offered at both BSidesLV and DEFCON. I'm not affiliated with the organizations sponsoring the events or the course, and I'm making no money by mentioning this. I saw the announcement, plan to attend and participate myself, and wanted to alert other potential DEFCON attendees that follow this site that they might find something interesting there. There is a link on the registration page to contact the organizer if you're interested. The CTFs are both free (onsite attendees only), the course is $60.

Actually, I'm wondering if the class is a remote class being offered specifically to prep for the CTF, as the time for the class is listed in EDT. I'll follow up here when I find out more specifics.

Registration for the class...

OK, situation is clarified. The class is definitely helpful prep for the CTFs, and is online, tomorrow evening.
