Reminiscent of the Turpins. I hope these three abusers rot in jail and everyday experience at least a modicum of the hell they inflicted on these poor kids.

“MINERSVILLE, Pa. - Minersville Police Chief Michael Combs says this is a case that will haunt him - many involving the welfare of children often do.

"No. I've never seen anything like this in Minersville. We've had certainly cases of child abuse, child sexual exploitation and things like that, but that these children endured this many years of this kind of treatment is beyond anything that I've seen," Combs said.

Wendy Yost, Jennifer Yost, and Todd Richter are in custody on child abuse charges after police say they beat three children, all Richter's biological kids. The affidavit details brutal beatings with things like bats and mallets.

Police say this went on for three years, and no one knew about it. That is until the oldest, a 12-year-old boy, escaped in early March.

"Fortunately, one of our residents saw this young man out pacing around back-and-forth, and although she's used to seeing children running around the streets, this child looked like he was in distress and she just asked him, 'Hey, buddy. Do you need some help,'" Combs said.”

Horrifying.

And more here from the children and the specific charges:

How do 3 evil people get together and agree to sadistically treat these three children. If they didn't want the children why not put them up for adoption or did they enjoy terrorising these kids? M.O.O

So it was only the father’s children from a previous marriage/relationship that were abused. I can’t comprehend such evil in these three adults. They need to experience exactly the same thing for their entire life. Did the mother and/or grandparents not wonder about the children?

The address in the news links comes up as the grandmonster's.

Wondering if "dad" took these children from a different State? Bless their hearts. Unimaginable.

Special thanks to the observant, and caring woman who helped this young boy. She may have saved these kid's lives.

Honestly, it is actually really hard to neglect and abuse children so severely. It is really easy to give basic love and care...basic, minimal. So why not just do that? Makes me sick!

Perhaps the fiancé/girlfriend wanted the three children from the previous marriage to die. Especially since her child appears to have been spared the appalling abuse.

Unbelievable! Why?!

I wonder where the mom of these little angels is? I can't imagine their horror at being abused by someone who is supposed to love and care for you.

O/T but I knew I've been in Minnersville. It's by Tower City. Just my observation years ago everybody knew everybody. Maybe it's changed.

We've seen so many cases where children are imprisoned and abused and nobody knows they exist.

Something made them do it: Because they could, first of all. It It also allowed them to pass their anger and frustration against whatever -- society, their boss, being un- or under-employed -- onto someone else. Also it gave them control, something they probably didn't have outside the home -- oh, but they can control what they do at home. Perhaps they were abused, etc., when they were young. Or they did it simply because it was fun.
They probably realized that the children would "tell on them," or the children's bruises, old injuries, probably low weight-to-age, etc., would also tell on them if they gave them up to Social Services or any other institution or person.
Thank goodness they got caught. What low-lifes.

Yes, we have seen many cases, and Covid19 has made it worse -- staying at home every day can make tough things tougher -- nobody to see if children are bruised, limping, or thin; not getting other Title 1 benefits through school -- it's tough on kids and moms who try to do their best to to put a good meal on the table; it's doubly worse when a parent is already prone to abusing the kids. These children are always, it seems, at the bottom of the pyramid. SMH.
