WILLOW GROVE, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Video captured a botched and painful escape by an alleged shoplifter last week at the Willow Grove Mall.

Police say Abdi Wasuge tried to make his getaway after a robbery at the Apple store on April 13.
He tried lower himself down from the second floor of the mall, but then fell to the ground.
Police say he broke his pelvis and tailbone.
Video of the leap has gone viral on the internet. It's now part of the police investigation.
Age not given. Good thing he dropped the MacBook Pros and the iPhone before falling (ETA: and didn't land on anyone). Abington Township PD statement:
On April 13, 2023, an adult male committed a retail theft from the Apple store located on the second level of the Willow Grove Park Mall. When encountered, he implied he had a gun and threatened to use it. The male then proceeded to jump from the second level down to the first level in attempt to flee. As a result of the fall, the suspect was injured. Abington Police arrived on scene and called EMS. The male required hospitalization. The male was released today from the hospital and was taken into custody by Abington Police.He is identified as Abdi Wasuge of [redacted by me] Tempe Arizona. Investigation revealed Wasuge was never in possession of a firearm. He has been charged with robbery and related offenses and is currently awaiting arraignment.
