Charley Project: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/m/muhammed_aesha.html

Aesha was last seen at her residence in the vicinity of the 1600 block of north 56th Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 30, 2000. Her two-year-old son, Amaru, disappeared with her. Amaru was located several weeks later when someone left him on the doorstep of Liberty Temple Church in Newark, New Jersey... Aesha has never been heard from again...

After Amaru was returned to his mother's relatives, he told them he had witnessed Aesha's murder. He stated she had been fighting with another individual at her home and this person punched her and hit her with a rock, and she died. The person Amaru named as Aesha's killer has not been publicly identified...

She lived in a boarding house on 56th Street near Hunter, run by her father's half-brother, Charles Dockins. Aesha reportedly had a troubled relationship with Dockins and they often argued. When she disappeared, Dockins told her family she had packed her belongings and left his home willingly. Her room in his house was found completely cleaned out; the only furniture remaining was a dresser and a bed with a bottom sheet.

Aesha's family set up a website for her: http://missingaeshamuhammed.wordpress.com/

and a FB missing page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/PAE-Help-Find-Aesha-Muhammad/145607505487264

How come this hasn't been solved?

Poor Amaru, I hope he's a happy, healthy teenage boy these days, not remembering what he had to witness at such a tender age in 2000.

Bumping for Aesha and her son. I don’t see why this case hasn’t been solved. I feel a determined and competent investigator or prosecutor could stir up movement with this case. Someone should be putting pressure on the POI. Aesha and Amaru deserve justice.

Hi!
I want to know if anyone thinks this would be a good enough match to submit.
Namus UP #987
I think this because Philadelphia (where Aesha went missing) is 55 minutes from Morgantown PA, where the UP was found. Age matches and height is similar enough. Dates line up if we consider the fact that Aesha might have been held? I think the reconstruction is identical to the picture of Aesha, along with the straight teeth!
Let me know what you think!

Back on 11/25/2013, this possible match was submitted to the Berks County Coroners Office. Actually, it was resubmitted but I don't have the exact year/date on the original submission. BCCO had requested a list of previously submitted possible matches (not just the Quarry Road Jane Doe) so I'm assuming it was looked into back then. (but you know what they say about assuming)

Not sure about the dentals on this one. Aesha has a prominent space between her front teeth. That detail is conspicuously absent from Doe's dental chart.

Attachment from UDRS (namus predecessor) case file 987 printed 11/13/2008.

11-22-2022 I'm hoping this source is allowed because there is a story about Aesha's little boy and what he says he witnessed.

Details of Disappearance

Aesha was last seen at her residence in the vicinity of the 1600 block of north 56th Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 30, 2000. Her two-year-old son, Amaru, disappeared with her.

Amaru was located several weeks later when someone left him on the doorstep of Liberty Temple Church in Newark, New Jersey. He was neatly dressed and in good health, but he could not say where he had been or who dropped him off at the church. He could only remember his first name and was not identified for several days.

Aesha has never been heard from again. After Amaru was returned to his mother's relatives, he told them he had witnessed his mother's murder, and named her killer. He stated she had been fighting with another individual at her home and this person punched her and hit her with a rock, and she died. The person Amaru said killed his mother has not been publicly identified.

Aesha is described as a competent, caring mother who would not have willingly abandoned her son. At the time of her disappearance she was employed at a beauty salon and studying at Venus Beauty Academy.

No suspects have been arrested in Aesha's disappearance. Foul play is suspected in her case.

Listening to a podcast Black Girl Gone and they are talking about this story. What I don't understand is WHY they are keeping the name quiet of who her son said hurt his mother, especially after this much time has passed. I don't believe they are really trying to figure out what happened to her, they have just written it off as a cold case and that's that. I pray some resolution is found in this case soon.
