On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, a woman's body was found in the trunk of a car by an employee of a towing company in the Cathedral Park neighborhood. The car had already been towed to the lot.
On Wednesday, July 15, 2020, a woman's body was found wrapped in cling wrap inside of a plastic tote left on a street corner in the Grays Ferry neighborhood. According to NBC10, the tote had been there for two weeks before someone tried to open it and called police.
On Friday, June 12, 2020, a woman's body was found in a suitcase on the street in the Kensington neighborhood. Police said she appeared to be a white female.
Let's also go back a few years.
On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, a man's body was found on the exit ramp of I-95 at Allegheny Ave. Police called the death at the time "suspicious," which means it was not an accidental hit-and-run accident. There must have been something about the body that stood out. I cannot find any information on the investigation of the body other than he was later identified as 48-year-old father of two John Dizio.
Also on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, a man's body was found wrapped in tarpaulin in the bedroom of a row house in the Spring Garden neighborhood.
On Tuesday, July 17, 2018, a woman's skeletal body was found in a suitcase at the entrance to Bartram's Garden in southwest Philly.
That summer of 2018 suspicions of a serial killer immediately came to mind. Police said nothing connected the deaths. Now here we have another summer series of murders involving bodies found around Philly. The suitcase/plastic tote deaths sound suspicious enough to me because they are all women found packaged for disposal. Could this be the work of a serial?
